Adaptation

Milton Keynes Cineworld, 5/3/2003, 7pm
I don’t know exactly what I was expecting, having seen and enjoyed ‘Being John Malkovitch’ with all its weirdness and whatnot, but it soon became apparent that ‘Adaptation‘ was going to be more of the same.
This isn’t to say that we’d ’seen it all before’ - far from it. But in [...]

Odd

Something really weird happened yesterday. Helen and I returned as usual to our small, yet comfortable abode in Emerson Valley, MK. Waiting on the doormat was a letter from the owners of property we put on offer on way back in August. It went something like:
“Dear Helen and Guy, you put in an offer [...]

Double Take

Whilst watching Mersey Beat last night I discovered that The Joker (Picture 1) has found new work as a policewoman (Picture 2) Apparently, according to today’s Express, Leslie Ash ‘bemoans’ her ‘new look’. Though you’ll have to buy the paper as their website is a token gesture.

Yoko no no

So, Yoko Ono is getting into a flap about Paul McCartney putting his name before John Lennon’s on some of the Beatles tracks on his new album. I’ve never really got the point about this whole ‘Lennon/McCartney’ thing. Lennon and McCartney didn’t collaborate on many of the Beatles stuff: Yesterday was written by Paul alone, [...]

A brief update: Our house is on the market. Yes it’s an unusual time to try and sell your house over [...]

Teething Trouble pt1

“The third molars take their place at about 17-18 years of age.” reads a passage from an article by Dr Vivek Pakhmode. Interesting then, that I’m in serious wisdom tooth pain at the age of 24. The top two did come through at 17, as expected, but the bottom two have been late [...]

The joy of breakfast

I rarely eat breakfast during the week. I never seem hungry much before 10am. Seeing as I start work at 9, I’ve been working for at least an hour before the hunger pains kick in. Rather than bringing in a bowl and some cereal, I’ve quite taken to munching on Alpen breakfast bars. The apple [...]

2DTV

The 2D TV ad may have been banned but the Internet still thrives with quality Bush piss-taking. Thanks: Shay.

What was that game?

Do you remember a game in the late eighties hosted by Bob Carolgees? I can’t for the life of me remember what it was called but the fondu set was a favourite prize. The idea was to match two of the same item to win them. Anyway, Central Counties Newspapers (North) have a version of [...]
