Who killed Kirsty MacColl?

Must see TV for tonight: Who Killed Kirsty MacColl? - a BBC4 documentary on possibly the best English singer-songwriter of all time. I’ve always been a huge fan and as long as I can locate the little bijou that is BBC4 amongst the sea of crap on my Sky digibox I shall be watching.

Weight loss? Fat burn!

Six weeks into my new healthy regime and I’m already three inches smaller. I’m quite amazed at the amount of fat that’s been burned from my abused body. Mentored by my ex-boss, Andy, the combination of healthy eating, drinking lots of water and exercising lots has left me with a belt that’s too big to [...]

Redesign phase 1: Metadata (keywords and description)

I’ve been working out the complete redesign process of this site. It not only involves a visual overhaul to the front end GUI but to the inner workings behind the scenes and under the hood. I’ve now implemented something I’ve been working on for sometime - metadata. Whilst many believe that meta tags such as [...]

TYPO3 - Open source Content Management

Join me is the true story of how Danny Wallace got bored and decided to create a “collective” in honour of his deceased relation. He [...]

Super size me

For our weekly visit to the flicks we decided a hard-hitting dose of reality would be just the ticket as the last ebbs of summer trickle away down the MK Xscape wind tunnel. Super size me is a documentary film in the same genre as Michael Moore’s Bowling for Columbine. Yet the guy presenting this [...]

Tinkering

I have been busying myself behind the scenes of this site, tinkering with the inner-workings in order to serve up semantically correct code as well as a greater user-experience that typifies my work on day to day projects here at the Open University. Indeed this site with it’s simplistic navigation and minimalist design somewhat betrays [...]

Big thinker

Apparently I’m a Big thinker. This could suggest why it’s taking me so long to complete the new templates and design for this website. I’m getting there though! Modular code is definitely the way to tame Movable Type. Hopefully Textpattern will adopt a similar approach.
