Removing empty space from hidden tracks on CDs in MP3 preparation

Possibly the longest title for a post ever buy hey-ho. I’ve been using a tidy little app to remove the unwanted silence between the last track on a CD and the hidden track some 30 odd minutes later. This trend started with Nirvana’s ‘Endless Nameless’ back in the early 90s. Bands are still irritating us [...]

Kill Bill and b-sides

B-sides recorded for new album: “Wise old monkey in a wheelchair”, “Bless Brian Blessed”, “Venus in gloves”. New album may be entitled “Just like soap” instead of “Subway to Venus”.
Kill Bill: Excellent little film with stunning visuals and music. Can’t wait for vol.2.

Matrix Revolutions

Well I thoroughly enjoyed it. Shay hated it. My thoughts: Well written, well directed and excellent battle scenes. Lot’s to figure out and disect. Yes the original stands up on its own and perhaps loses something for having two sequels but what fine rides those sequels are.

Peter Green - Aylesbury Civic Centre

Peter Green. Live, 6th November 2003.
Set: Half acoustic, half electric. Lots of new Splinter group tracks interspersed with classic ‘Fleetwood Mac burgers’: Need your love so bad, Man of the world (instrumental), Green Manalishi, Black Magic Woman (incredibly long and exciting jam) but no “Oh Well” (surprised?).
Peter: Ageing, santa-esque, voice shot to pieces [...]

Subway to Venus

Twelve songs have been collected so far for the new Deathbru album. Some I wrote some considerable time ago in their entirety, some were half-arsed efforts (bits of music but no real lyrics or nowt) and one or two are completely new. Twelve is a good number of tracks for a collection and I’m looking [...]

I received plenty of quality items to celebrate reaching a quarter of a century. Highlights include: GTA Vice City (finally), the complete first season of Twin Peaks on DVD, new albums from Finley Quaye and Belle and Sebastian as well as a great little helicopter made from a can of Heineken from Hugh. The ongoing [...]
