Dark Side of the Moon

Pink Floyd have launched a new mini-site all about the 30th Anniversary edition of Dark Side of The Moon. The stunning Flash site gives an enlightening guide to the audio techniques used in remastering the 5:1 surround sound ‘SACD’. This new format can play in conventional CD players as well as DVD drives.

Also, the band’s cover artist, Storm Thorgerson, explains the techniques he used to design the new, remastered cover.

The spliffer’s CD of choice is in the shops now. I’m off to get my copy ASAP.

Have you got a Super Audio CD player then? My home cinema kit supports it.

I’ll have to get a SACD soon to see how much difference there is.

Apparently they play on conventional CD players too. You don’t get the 5:1 surround from a conventional CD player though (i think - i’m no expert, so somebody let me know).

I thought they were exclusive to SACD players to be honest.

Guy thought Firefox was to blame for Gmail working like a dog today. But it's just as bad in Opera. OU network probably the problem I guess.
