State

I’m off work today and Monday. Packing to do and removal men to organise. Oh, and that slight issue regarding retrospective building regs to attend to. Tuesday and Wednesday I’m on a course all about presentation skills. Back in action on Thursday but will be checking work email remotely in the meantime.

Housing Hell p3

Well, we have a problem with our vendor. They’re offering to put £100 (including the £60 for the regs) towards the job. Great, eh? Well there we go. Now we’re going to get some quotes to do the whole job properly and slap them in front of them. If, in the unlikely event that replastering, [...]

Southampton

A quote from Sky News via Tracy:
“Umm Qasr is a city similar to Southampton,” UK defence minister Geoff Hoon said in The Commons yesterday.
“He’s either never been to Southampton, or he’s never been to Umm Qasr” says a British Squaddie patrolling Umm Qasr.
Another soldier added: “There’s no beer, no prostitutes and people are shooting [...]

Our estate agents and our vendor’s solicitor are strongly advising us to obtain building regs after we move in, should the need arise. Such reckless behaviour might befit somebody with barrels of money [...]

Points

Hugh is posting regular pictures to his site. I’m supposed to be putting his design into HTML and CSS. I’m also supposed to be doing the same for Shay Speaks and Stonemonkey. They all have MT-driven sites that site on the GuyWeb server. I’ve yet to find any time to implement anything. Be safe in [...]

Bad fruit

For about two weeks now I’ve had three pieces of fruit sat on top of my PC at work: two apples and a pear. I’m not going to eat them, although they are real and will obviously rot. There were all in good shape until the war began yesterday. Today, all three have started to [...]
