Pondering the design #1

I’ve been thinking about the grand tidy up of this site. Looking at the top of the page, there’s a menu containing links to the Home Page, Guy, Helen Message Board and Search. This menu flows through most of the site whilst the items on the right only occur on the home page. Why did [...]

Greetings Earthlings

My humble little personal site seems to be attracting more and more people. It sort of makes sense as it’s heavy on text that’ll bring the Google results. Now, I’m just wondering how many regular readers come to this site? There’s a few I know about (Mike, Shay, Deans, Narin, Stephen etc) but who else [...]

A story unfolds

So, we phoned them up. Somehow they managed to track us down through an estate agent. You see, the remembered that we lived in Emerson Valley and our drive was to the side of our property. This was all the information they used to track us down. Scary. They were, however, under the illusion that [...]

Odd

Something really weird happened yesterday. Helen and I returned as usual to our small, yet comfortable abode in Emerson Valley, MK. Waiting on the doormat was a letter from the owners of property we put on offer on way back in August. It went something like:
“Dear Helen and Guy, you put in an offer [...]

Secure BBC alternative to Hotmail

The BBC has recently revamped its web-based email client and rebranded it Webmail Direct. It’s well worth a look as you can now add attachments and put people into your address book. The great thing is that is has no advertising, no spam and doesn’t run out after 14 days of inactivity. I’ve had my [...]

Double Take

Whilst watching Mersey Beat last night I discovered that The Joker (Picture 1) has found new work as a policewoman (Picture 2) Apparently, according to today’s Express, Leslie Ash ‘bemoans’ her ‘new look’. Though you’ll have to buy the paper as their website is a token gesture.

CD scratching

I never really believed that the label side of a CD is the weakest bit. Until today. I took to scraping the label side off the top of a recordable CD today. It took five minutes. The CD is now completely see-through and no longer works as a CD. Try it with a dud CD [...]

Find The Gatekeeper

Much of my Christmas day was spent being fascinated/frustrated with this puzzle. It was given to my cousin James by his girlfriend Fiona. I managed to solve the puzzle once - by mistake. Now I want the puzzle, called ‘The Gatekeeper’ and made by The Mad Cow Company. I can’t find it anywhere and the [...]

Surprise surprise

Cilla Black’s shock announcement that she will be leaving Blind Date is no shock to me. The show has gone from pretty crap to appalling over the last few years. The good ole’ days of harmless chaps from the street and OAPs looking for love in their twilight years has been replaced by wannabe TV [...]
